Meet our Practice

Adam C. Polivy, DMD, CAGS

Dr. Polivy completed his undergraduate education with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology from the University of Rochester. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. He joined the practice shortly thereafter and has enjoyed meeting and treating the many patients who come for excellent dental care. Dr. Polivy was born and raised in Newton, and currently resides locally with his wife, two daughters, and two dogs.

John Ficarelli, DMD

Dr. Ficarelli received his dental and pediatric specialty training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and Boston Floating Hospital of New England Medical Center. He is Director of Dentistry at the Massachusetts Hospital School and is on staff at Tufts Medical Center and the Franciscan Hospital for Children. Dr. Ficarelli is board certified and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  He is President and a founding board member of Project Stretch: Dentistry Reaching Out to Children, an international dental volunteer organization. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Cleft Palate Association, the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In 2007, he was inducted as a fellow of the International College of Dentists and is also a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Science and the American College of Dentists. Dr. Ficarelli also practices Pediatric Dentistry at Dental Associates of Walpole, LLP.

Harvey A. Shaff, DMD

Dr. Shaff completed his dental education at the University of Pennsylvania in 1970. He is a former instructor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and was inducted into their honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. In addition, he was the former President of the Greater Boston Dental Society. Dr. Shaff has been practicing dentistry in Chestnut Hill for over 40 years and has enjoyed treating each and every patient who has entered the office. Dr. Shaff enjoys skiing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Andrew Danberg-Ficarelli, DMD

Dr. Andrew Danberg-Ficarelli is originally from Newton Centre, MA and now lives in Boston, where he earned his DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Ficarelli stayed at Tufts to complete a specialty residency in pediatric dentistry, and was appointed chief resident by the department. A board certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Ficarelli is an active participant in the dental charity Project Stretch: Dentistry Reaching Out to Children and during dental school was tapped for a national leadership position in the American Student Dental Association. His B.A. degree is from Columbia College of Columbia University, where he studied economics and political science. A fluent Spanish speaker, Dr. Ficarelli has also lived and worked in Latin America. He is an impassioned oarsman and hiker, has enjoyed completing several organized endurance challenges, and sings with the local Highland Glee Club. Dr. Ficarelli also practices Pediatric Dentistry at Dental Associates of Walpole, LLP.

AnnaMarie DeFeo, DDS, MS

Dr. AnnaMarie DeFeo, originally from Michigan, completed both her doctorate in dentistry and her pediatric dentistry specialty training at the University of Michigan. She has a special interest in dental material science, and has obtained her Master of Science in this area from the University of Michigan. Dr. DeFeo is a board certified pediatric dentist, having earned the distinction as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  She is currently a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the volunteer organization Project Stretch, and the dental fraternity Delta Sigma Delta. She is a district officer for the East Middlesex Dental Society.  She maintains staff positions at Franciscan Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts Hospital School. Dr. DeFeo also practices Pediatric Dentistry at the Medford Center for Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry.

Eric Gheewalla, DMD

Dr. Eric Gheewalla earned his D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he went on to complete his orthodontic residency in 1993. Since then he has been in private practice, serving the residents of Medford (www.themedfordcenter.com), Boston and Brookline.  Dr. Gheewalla is a premier provider of Invisalign and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr Gheewalla is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, East Middlesex District Dental Society, New England Society of Orthodontists, Massachusetts Association of Orthodontics, Tufts Association of Orthodontists, International College of Dentists and the Boston Invisalign Study Club. Dr. Gheewalla enjoys biking, tennis, travel, reading, and photography in his free time.

Dr. Tagerman, DMD

 

Robert G. Csillag DMD

Dr. Csillag has over 40 years of experience in dentistry.  He received his AB in Biochemistry from Harvard University in 1971, then attended the University of Liege Medical School, in Belgium, and continued on to earn his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1977. Upon graduation, he established his own practice which provided quality care to the community in a small office setting which allowed him to  develop one to one relationships with his patients. Dr. Csillag places an emphasis on prevention and conservative, high quality treatment. He keeps up with ever changing technology to provide the finest dental care to his patients. He is one of a select group of dentists, nationally, to offer One Visit Porcelain Crowns with the aid of CAD/CAM Technology. Less than 25% of dentists nationally use this technology. He is a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He enjoys family practice dentistry because it promotes personalized, relationship focused care while allowing him to spend time with his own family. Dr. Csillag is happily married and has two grown daughters.
